Michael Serotte
Founding Partner
Overview
Michael Serotte is the Founding Partner of Serotte Immigration Partners, a boutique immigration law firm built around startups, founders, investors, and high-growth companies. He serves as Immigration Counsel at Stanford's StartX and as the immigration partner at Unshackled Ventures, and advises students and founders connected to NYU, Columbia, Duke, Chicago, Harvard, Berkeley, and other top programs.
Michael and his team focus on O-1A, EB-1A, NIW, H-1B, L-1, E-2, TN, and PERM matters across all technology sectors including energy, healthcare, manufacturing, and media. He's particularly drawn to complicated business and investment immigration cases that other firms won't touch.
Before law, Michael earned a BBA in Accounting and Finance at the University of Miami and worked as an accountant with a predecessor of Ernst & Young. He received his Juris Doctor from the University at Buffalo School of Law and spent time in real estate, law, and finance in Tampa Bay and Washington, D.C. before returning to Buffalo to found the firm.
His background in business, finance, and entrepreneurship gives clients a valuable strategic perspective on immigration planning for both established companies and startups.
Serotte Immigration Partners serves clients across the U.S. and in countries around the world. Michael meets with clients via video and in person in Buffalo, San Francisco, New York City, and Toronto.
His biggest thrill comes when his team gets a case approved that other lawyers said couldn't be done. And when the Buffalo Bills win a Super Bowl.
