Faster routes for accomplished professionals
Not every professional needs to go through PERM. If your credentials and accomplishments are strong enough, there are faster routes that put you in control of the timeline.
Switching employers without starting over
H-1B portability lets you start with a new employer as soon as the transfer petition is filed, well before approval. That's a powerful provision, but only if the new petition is filed correctly and the timing is right. We handle the transfer and coordinate with the new employer's HR team so there's no gap in your authorization.
If you're considering a move but haven't committed yet, we evaluate the immigration implications before you accept the offer. What happens to your green card case mid-PERM? Can you port your priority date? These are questions worth answering before you give notice (not after).
Getting your green card moving
The typical employer-sponsored green card process runs through three stages: PERM labor certification (where your employer proves they couldn’t find a qualified U.S. worker), the I-140 immigrant petition (where you prove you qualify for the position), and adjustment of status or consular processing (where you actually get the card).
Start to finish typically takes two to five years depending on your category and country of birth (and that’s assuming no hiccups along the way).
We help you and your employer choose between EB-2 and EB-3 strategically, and start early enough that your H-1B doesn't run out before approval. The biggest mistake we see? Waiting too long to begin.
Faster routes for accomplished professionals
The EB-1A extraordinary ability and EB-1B outstanding researcher categories both skip labor certification entirely. So does the National Interest Waiver under EB-2, which lets you self-petition with no employer involvement at all.
These aren't options reserved for Nobel laureates. We regularly help engineers with significant patents, researchers with strong publication records, and business leaders with demonstrated industry impact qualify. The bar is high… but not as far out of reach as most people assume.
